Pulling Strings Music Festival
Columbia has been well-known for decades as a place where music thrives. Our many music venues, both large and small, host everything from rock-n-roll, country, urban rap, bluegrass, classical symphonic, indie and more. We are also the host to annual festivals like 9th Street Summerfest and the Roots & Blues & BBQ Festival. Music is literally a part of our history and our present day, so it only made sense to continue the celebration at The Bluffs.
The Pulling Strings Music Festival is our semi-annual event at which we host local musicians right here at The Bluffs! How in the heck does a nursing home host a music festival? Well, we pulled some strings.
The Pulling Strings Music festival was born through a vision of The Bluffs being a cultural destination and a place in which friends and families gather to make memories. We’ve been fortunate to welcome so many talented performers, including:
- Austin Jones and the Bootheel Boys
- Chump Change
- JJ Coaltrain
- The Borrowed String Band
- The Mighty Pines
- Ironweed Bluegrass
- Violet and the Undercurrents
Each performance is held outdoors in our Central Park (weather permitting) and accompanied by snacks, beverages, toe-tapping and booty shaking. It’s definitely a fun environment for people of all ages to enjoy.
The Pulling Strings Music Festival is made possible by generous donations from people just like you. Want to be part of the fun? Volunteer, donate, or email us about setting up a performance in our next festival!
